- He practiced law in association with Mary Clemence Devereux from 1987 to 2009 and with Raymond Childress from 1989 to 1995. (Both now judges for the 22nd Judicial District Court for St. Tammany and Washington Parishes.)
- Bill has been Board Certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 2002. (This Certification is granted to only a select few who are qualified to merit the designation. In Louisiana, there are 20,554 attorneys as of 2009. Only 40 are Board Certified in Civil Trial Advocacy.)
